Τα Emmys πέρασαν. Τα Όσκαρ αργούν ακόμα. Τα Ευρωπαϊκά Βραβεία Κινηματογράφου απονεμήθηκαν, κι η αλήθεια είναι ότι ακούστηκαν μέχρι εδώ μόνο και μόνο γιατί τα σάρωσε ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος. Τι έμεινε στο ενδιάμεσο; Μα οι Χρυσές Σφαίρες φυσικά. Και ναι, τα βραβεία των Ξένων Ανταποκριτών στο Χόλιγουντ απονεμήθηκαν αυτό το σαββατοκύριακο σε κινηματογραφικές και τηλεοπτικές παραγωγές της χρονιάς που μας πέρασε. Αφού ο Ricky Gervais παρέδωσε μερικά αναμενόμενα μαθήματα edginess, μεγάλος νικητής της βραδιάς αναδείχθηκε το πολεμικό έπος 1917 του Sam Mendes, το οποίο κυκλοφορεί αυτή τη βδομάδα στα ελληνικά σινεμά. Η ταινία πήρε τόσο το βραβείο καλύτερου δράματος όσο και το βραβείο καλύτερης σκηνοθεσίας. Κατά τ’ άλλα, όσον αφορά τα άλλα μεγάλα κινηματογραφικά βραβεία, το Once Upon a Time in Hollywood του Quentin Tarantino έφυγε με το βραβείο καλύτερης κωμωδίας/μιούζικαλ και ο Joaquin Phoenix έφυγε προφανώς με το βραβείο ερμηνείας για το Joker. Κι ενώ τα μεγάλα τηλεοπτικά βραβεία πήγαν ψιλοαναμενόμενα σε Succession, Fleabag και Chernobyl, το Netflix μάλλον πήγε για κουβά αφού η μόνη παραγωγή του που πήρε βραβείο ήταν το Marriage Story (για την ερμηνεία της Laura Dern).
