Το \m/ουσικό ιστολόγιο ριτουίταρε πριν λίγο την εξής φωτογραφία. Η Jarboe απεικονίζεται με τον Καιάδα (Γιώργο Γερμενή) της Χρυσής Αυγής και τη γυναίκα του σε παραλία.

Η φωτογραφία ξεσήκωσε αντιδράσεις πράγμα που ανάγκασε την Jarboe να την κατεβάσει. Απ’ τη μεριά τους οι διοργανωτές σχολίασαν στη σελίδα του event στο Facebook: «Παιδιά είμαστε όλοι σοκαρισμένοι μα περισσότερο απ’ όλους η Jarboe!!! Δεν είχε την παραμικρή ιδέα ότι αυτός ο άνθρωπος είναι αυτό που είναι. Γιατί όσοι γνωρίζουν ποια είναι η Jarboe, ξέρουν ότι είναι εντελώς αντί όλου αυτού. Πραγματικά, οι συνεργάτες της μας λένε πως δεν την έχουν ξαναδεί πιο ταραγμένη ποτέ».

 
 

Χωρίς να μπούμε σε λεπτομέρειες, οι πληροφορίες που έχουμε επιβεβαιώνουν τη μεγάλη ταραχή της Jarboe.

 
 

Tο support της σημερινής συναυλιας, Mani Deum, έγραψε: «Εκ μέρους μας θα θέλαμε να ξεκαθαρίσουμε ότι απόψε θα παίξουμε μετά τη διαβεβαίωση της διοργάνωσης και της ίδιας της Jarboe ότι ουδεμία σχέση έχει με ακροδεξιές πεποιθήσεις. Όσοι μας γνωρίζετε, ξέρετε πολύ καλά ποιοι είμαστε και τη θέση μας εναντίον του φασισμού».

 
 

Λίγη ώρα μετά, ήρθε η ανακοίνωση απ’ τη σελίδα της ίδιας της Jarboe, η οποία ενώ δεν δείχνει να ασπάζεται νεοναζιστικές πεποιθήσεις, παρουσιάζει ωστόσο εμμέσως πλην σαφώς τον νεοναζισμό ως «εναλλακτική οπτική» που χωράει στην ανεκτικότητά της, χωρίς να κάνει καμία ρητή αναφορά στον Γερμενή. Η ανακοίνωση έχει ως εξής:

«Jarboe’s work of the last 30 years with the intense SWANS, her solo work and her collaborations and associations with musicians, actors, philosophers and artists of all types has always shown her open mind towards alternative viewpoints and perspectives.

Jarboe comes from a very ordinary working class background, which is rooted in the philosophy to welcome and to work hard, and to celebrate life in the extreme—to appreciate and tolerate the views and perspectives of others and to remain outside the politics of her friends and associates.

Jarboe and every member of her team are working class persons. They are global citizens who, from traveling across the world for work, have come to identify with some degree of goodness in everyone they meet.

We hope that the good people attending any of our shows will help us to celebrate our belief that music is the last true language of the people, of all people.»

 
 

Και ο πρώην συνεργάτης της Cedric Victor:

«Hi, as Jarboe’s collaborator on the 2009 MAHAKALI Mother Of Changes Tour, I just want clear the air a little.

Kaiadas and Jenny with Naer Mataron were on tour with us for a few dates and from my experience, both of them were super-cooperative and just really generous of heart, as was the rest of the band.

We had some difficult times with some of the venues but it was all a much better experience because everyone including NM were good people. They will never mention it, but at one point Jenny took care of Jarboe when she was very sick. Kaiadas was always in good spirits (just like in this photo), never complained about anything. This to me and the rest of my/Jarboe’s band was a great quality when you are stuck in a bus for a few weeks in the summer!

We never discussed any politics with them or any of the other band members—everyone was there to make good music and enjoy being on tour.

Anyway, I feel compelled to mention these details, since I know Jarboe is expecting to play there tonight and I hope everyone who goes will enjoy the show!

 
 

Όπως και οι διοργανωτές, το support σχήμα κι εμείς, πολλοί οπαδοί της μουσικής της δέχτηκαν ως κεραυνό εν αιθρία το γεγονός.
