Στις 30 Δεκεμβρίου 2014, η Ντέμπορα Μπόουν, έσβησε σε ηλικία 50 χρονών χτυπημένη απο τον καρκίνο. Εργαζόταν για την ψυχική υγεία των νέων και χρησιμοποίησε πρωτοποριακές μεθόδους για να βοηθήσει πιεσμένα παιδιά να ξεπεράσουν τα άγχη και τις φοβίες τους.

Για όλα αυτά, έλαβε τιμητική βράβευση από τη Βασίλισσα της Αγγλίας, λίγες μόνο ώρες πριν ξεψυχήσει – όμως η ιδιότητα με την οποία θα μείνει στην Ιστορία, στην ποπ Ιστορία τουλάχιστον, είναι ως η πηγή έμπνευσης του Τζάρβις Κόκερ, τραγουδιστή του συκροτήματος Pulp, όταν ο τελευταίος έγραφε τους στίχους του τραγουδιού “Disco 2000”.

Οι παραπάνω στίχοι αντικατοπτρίζουν την πραγματικότητα, μιας και οι δυο τους όντως γεννήθηκαν στο Σέφιλντ της Αγγλίας με πολύ μικρή χρονική διαφορά και οι μητέρες τους κάνανε κολλητή παρέα.

Ο Τζάρβις Κόκερ έχει δηλώσει οτι “το μόνο που δεν είναι αλήθεια (σ.σ. στους στίχους του κομματιού) είναι το υλικό της ταπετσαρία στο σπίτι της”.
