Ο άνθρωπος που “δημιούργησε” τα ζόμπι όπως τα ξέρουμε σήμερα, o George A. Romero απεβίωσε σήμερα σε ηλικία 77 χρονών. Ο Πατέρας των ζόμπις πάλευε εδώ και χρόνια με τον Καρκίνο του Πνεύμονα. Όλα ξεκίνησαν το 1968 με την «Νύχτα των Ζωντανών Νεκρών» που ο George A. Romero έφερε την επανάσταση στο είδος των horror films και άλλαξε για πάντα το είδος των ταινιών με ζόμπι. Η πλάκα είναι ποτέ δεν τα κατονόμασε έτσι σε ταινία του. H τριλογία των Ζόμπι συνεχίστηκε με το Dawn of the Dead (1978) και το Day of the Dead (1985).
